All Opportunities

Welcome to the SUNY Orange Foundation’s Scholarship Opportunities Homepage!

*The scholarship Database Application process is closed at this time.

The Application will begin again on January 13th , 2025 to April 4th, 2025.

All applicants MUST BE ACCEPTED AND/OR ENROLLED AT SUNY ORANGE.

Applicants MUST HAVE A SUNY ORANGE STUDENT ID# (A#) to apply for scholarships through this system.

Completing a FAFSA form is not required to qualify for these scholarships.

A new application is required for each new cycle year, even if you have received a multi-year scholarship, such as the Presidential or Rowley scholarships. Please call the Foundation Office at (845) 341-4725 if you have any questions or concerns.

To apply for scholarships, you must first sign in with the same username and password you use to access your SUNY Orange email. You will then have the opportunity to complete a general application. Students sign in using their A# and password—complete the General Application, certify and click to Submit the application. Next, the appropriate Conditional Application (divided by enrollment status) will be available for the student to answer questions, required references, and essays—certify and click to Submit the application. The application will be in draft mode until all required questions are completed. The student will be notified through email of any outstanding items needed to submit their application. Once completed and the application is certified and submitted, the student’s application will flow to review during that process date.

In addition to submitting this application, you will need two academic, professional, and/or personal references. One must be a current and/or former instructor that you have had in class. Please consult with those instructors/recommenders prior to entering their email addresses, and follow up frequently to ensure that they have, in fact, submitted their letters.

If you are awarded a scholarship, please note that any scholarship of $500 or less will be paid out in a single semester, usually the Fall semester unless the student requests otherwise. Any scholarship over $500 will be paid out in two equal payments over two semesters. For example: A $1,000 scholarship recipient will receive $500 for the Fall Semester and $500 for the Spring Semester. *If there are any circumstances that require scholarship money to be paid out differently or to be put on hold, students should contact Sharon Hood from the SUNY Orange Foundation at sharon.hood@sunyorange.edu

All scholarship monies will be paid directly to Student Accounts (there will be some exceptions for graduating scholarships).

If, for any reason, a student receives more financial assistance than they require, the SUNY Orange Foundation reserves the right to decrease the scholarship amount in order to award additional monies to other deserving students.

This system is for SUNY Orange scholarships only. If you are interested in other financial assistance opportunities such as the New York State Excelsior Scholarship Program, you can contact the SUNY Orange Financial Aid Office at (845) 341-4190 for more information.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please email Sharon Hood at sharon.hood@sunyorange.edu or call her at (845) 341-4725.

The SUNY Orange scholarship process is managed by the SUNY Orange Foundation, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to generating funds and building resources to enhance learning opportunities for students and the community. Through the efforts of the Foundation and the generosity of many private donors, the SUNY Orange Foundation awards approximately 250 scholarships each academic year.

Below you will find a listing of scholarships available to students with brief information about the scholarship qualifications.
