Second round Entering students application dates:

Application for the second round for Entering students will begin May 1, 2026 and close on July 19, 2026

To apply, applicants must have a SUNY Orange Student ID number (A#).

• Completion of the FAFSA is not required to qualify for SUNY Orange Foundation scholarships.

• A new application must be submitted for each academic year, even if you have received a multi-year scholarship (such as the Presidential or Rowley Scholarship).

  Note: There is only one application to apply for scholarships. You do not need to apply to any specific scholarship.

How to Apply

Click on the Orange Sign In box on the top right-hand of the page, which takes you to the following link: https://sunyorange.academicworks.com/users/sign_in

Sign in using the same username and password you use for your SUNY Orange email.

Complete the General Application, certify, and click Submit. Complete the appropriate Conditional Application (based on your enrollment status). This section may include:

Additional questions, Required references, Essay responses.

Your application will remain in draft status until all required items are completed. You will receive email notifications if any items are missing.

Once your application is certified and submitted, it will move forward for review during the designated review period.

Reference Requirements

In addition to the application, two references are required. References may be academic, professional, or personal; however, at least one reference must be a current or former instructor who has taught you in class.

Please speak with your recommenders before entering their email addresses and follow up regularly to ensure their letters are submitted on time.

Important Reminder

ONLY COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED.
Be sure to certify and submit your application before the deadline.

• Acceptance of your scholarship award is required in order to receive funds.

Scholarships of $500 or less are typically paid in one semester (usually Fall, unless otherwise requested). Scholarships over $500 are paid in two equal installments across two semesters (Fall and Spring).

Example: A $1,000 scholarship will be paid as $500 in Fall and $500 in Spring.

If special circumstances require an alternative payment schedule or a temporary hold, students should contact Sharon Hood at

Scholarship funds are generally paid directly to Student Accounts, with limited exceptions for graduating students.

If a student receives more financial assistance than needed, the SUNY Orange Foundation reserves the right to adjust the scholarship amount in order to support additional deserving students.

Through the generosity of private donors, the Foundation awards approximately 250 scholarships each academic year.
